Joseph Federico of Clifton, NJ is the Vice President and Director of Operations of NJ MET and has been a successful electronic engineer for years. In 1977 Joseph Federico started as a Test Operator for Solid State Electronics. After earning an Associate degree in Electrical Engineering Technology from the Metropolitan Technical Institute, Joseph went on to graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology from Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU).

While attending college, Joseph Federico, working under the then president of NJ MET, initiated a military testing department accommodating the military and aerospace programs instituted by the Reagan administration. The success of this department opened the door for NJ MET to be recognized by other organizations, winning contracts with companies such as the Boeing Company, Honeywell International Inc., Raytheon and Lockheed Martin Corporation.

That was only the first of Joseph Federico’s successes to come. After several extensive visits to the Asian-Pacific region researching the counterfeit components epidemic, Joseph Federico created the world’s first electronic component counterfeit detection program in 2003. NJMET’s position as an industry leader became clear when the world’s largest online electronic component trading center adopted Joseph Federico’s new program.

Joseph Federico is now internationally known in the electronics industry and is the first American engineer invited to Israel, Russia, Hong Kong, Japan and China to speak about counterfeit electronic components. Joseph Federico lectures at the P. Muscarelle Center at the FDU on this global epidemic of counterfeit electronic components.
